June Resident of the Month
Javera Tariq

I am a PGY-4 resident in the Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology program in Saskatoon, originally from Pakistan. I enjoy the pinks and blues of pathology—finding beauty and meaning in the microscopic world that guides clinical care. Beyond the microscope, I love cooking, traveling, and unwinding with a good thriller.
Here are some of the reasons Javera was chosen as Resident of the Month (As quoted from the nomination letter):
"Javera shows the best qualities of a great doctor—she is kind, a strong leader, and always works hard to do her best. She not only has excellent medical knowledge, but also sets a great example for others through her actions."
"Javera is a wonderful communicator and professional. She is one of the kindest people I’ve worked with. She has a natural ability to make others feel comfortable and open, and she is always willing to help. She goes out of her way to offer support, encouragement, and understanding. She also shows true leadership and helps people find their strengths and always takes time to talk through any problem. Whether she’s supporting junior residents with difficult cases or offering a calm presence on service, Javera lifts up everyone around her."
"Javera is also a curious and committed learner. She takes part in academic projects and enjoys teaching others. Her dedication to learning and mentoring helps improve our academic environment. With her strong clinical skills, empathy, and thoughtful leadership, Javera is an outstanding resident and a valued member of our team. She truly deserves this recognition, andI can’t think of anyone more deserving of the Resident of the Month award."
